v1.40.0 & v1.40.1 (Sep 1, 2026) Reliable credit notes, accurate payments and better client workspaces

This update makes your finance records more trustworthy and gives each client profile dedicated spaces for contacts, documents and payments.

Credit notes you can rely on:

- Every time you apply a credit note to an invoice, ClientCee records who applied it, how much and when, so your invoice balances always add up

- Credit can only be applied to invoices for the same client and in the same currency, and never more than the credit available or the amount still owed

- Once a credit note is issued, it can't be edited or deleted, keeping your records accurate

- Invoices with credit applied are protected from deletion and from changes to their amounts, while you can still update other details

- The client portal now shows credit totals separately for each currency

More accurate payments:

- Invoice balances are always calculated from the payments and credits actually recorded

- Online payments are recorded exactly once, even if a client pays after a credit was applied, and any difference is flagged for you to review

- Two people can't pay the same invoice balance online at the same time

- Payments can only be recorded against invoices that are still payable, and against projects that belong to the same client

- Deleting a project no longer deletes its payment history

Client workspaces:

- Contacts, Documents and Payments each have their own dedicated tab on the client profile, with a card view on phones and a table on larger screens

- The Payments tab highlights the next invoice waiting to be paid, and flags any online payments that need a closer look

- Empty tabs guide you to the next step, while a filter with no results offers a quick way to reset it

Client portal access:

- Giving a client portal access now requires setting up their login properly first, so no account is ever created by accident

- Phone numbers are saved in a consistent format

- A new picker for profile pictures and company logos, with drag and drop and an instant preview. If an upload fails, your existing picture stays in place

Estimates:

- Estimate creation and editing have been rebuilt to match the rest of Finance, with clear statuses for accepted, declined and open estimates

- Duplicate any estimate to reuse it
